Construction Projects -
Route 65 Widening: Fair Grove to Dallas County Route EE (Greene/Dallas counties)
Contractor crews will blast rock later in the week along Route 65 near Route TT/Route 38 twice a day – at noon and 6 p.m. Route 65 traffic will be slowed and possibly stopped just prior to the blast and could remain stopped for up to 10 minutes.
Crews will grade rock and dirt and install drain pipes and large concrete box culverts in various locations throughout the project.
Drivers should be alert to dump trucks traveling through the intersection of Route 65 and Route 38 to haul away rock and dirt from work areas.
Crews will build columns for a new bridge over the Pomme de Terre River north of Fair Grove – AWAY from traffic.

The work is part of a project to widen Route 65 to four lanes between Route 125/CC at Fair Grove and Dallas County Route EE. There may be traffic stops up to one-half hour and one-lane traffic with a pilot car directing drivers through the work zone. A reduced speed limit of 45 mph will be posted in the work zone.

Route 65 Widening: between Springfield and Fair Grove (Greene County)
Greene County Route KK is scheduled to be open to traffic.
Drivers should be alert for traffic slowdowns along Route 65 as crews work in the future median areas.
Crews will pave the new southbound lanes of Route 65 from the Little Pomme de Terre River to the north. Crews will diamond-grind the completed sections of southbound Route 65 between Bluegrass Road and Route AA. Crews will pave shoulders between Route AA and the Little Dry Sac River.
Drivers should be alert to dump trucks entering and leaving work areas along Route 65.
The work is part of a project to widen Route 65 to four lanes between Springfield and Fair Grove and build new crossovers at intersections with state routes and Bluegrass Road.

One southbound lane of Glenstone Avenue and one eastbound lane of Primrose Street will be closed at night during the week. Contractor crews will work to widen the roadways on the southwest corner of the intersection. The lane closings will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
During the daytime, crews will remove concrete curb on the southeast corner and install storm drains. All of the work will take place AWAY from traffic.
Drivers should be alert for large equipment and dump trucks entering and leaving work areas with traffic.
There will be no daytime lane closings at the intersection. All lane closings will be done at night between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
The work is part of a project to add dual left turn lanes at the intersection, build right-turn lanes, install new storm drains and add new traffic signals.
Scheduled completion: November 2008.
Northbound Route 13 Lane Relocation: North of Springfield (Greene County)
Contractor crews will begin clearing brush on the north end of the project near Farm Road 6 and begin hauling rock and other construction materials along southbound Route 13. Drivers should be alert for slow-moving trucks entering and leaving the highway.
The work is part of a project to relocate the northbound lanes of Route 13 between Pinewood Drive (south of Farm Road 48) on the south and Farm Road 6 on the north.
Scheduled completion: June 2009.
Route 60/Glenstone Avenue Interchange: Springfield (Greene County)
Crews will build curb and gutters along Republic Road near the YMCA.
Crews will work to rebuild Harvard Avenue on the south side of Republic Road.
Republic Road is closed between a point east of Charleston Avenue and a point west of Old Glenstone Avenue through fall 2008.
Crews are building a stormwater detention basin at the intersection of Republic Road and Harvard Avenue.
Drivers may be stopped on Glenstone Avenue at Old Glenstone at times to allow dump trucks to cross the road.
Drivers are urged to use Glenstone Avenue, Route 60 (James River Freeway) and National Avenue to get around the closing of Republic Road.
The work scheduled is part of a project to rebuild and relocate the eastbound Route 60 ramps, raise and widen Republic Road to five lanes and build a new intersection at Republic Road/Harvard Avenue/Route 60 eastbound ramps.
Scheduled completion: Fall 2008.
Chestnut Expressway (Loop 44)/National Avenue Intersection Widening: Springfield (Greene County)
Crews will pour concrete to build traffic signal bases and islands on various corners of the intersection.
The work is part of a project to add dual left-turn lanes in all four directions, build new right-turn lanes on three of the four corners (a right turn-lane already exists on the southeast corner), smooth out the intersection and add new traffic signals.
Scheduled completion: August 2008.
Route 266 Relocation/Airport Boulevard Construction - west of Springfield (Greene County)
Chestnut Expressway traffic is shifted to the eastbound lanes on the bridge over I-44, with only one lane of traffic in each direction. Crews will lay asphalt to build approaches to the westbound side of the bridge.
Crews will grade and haul away rock and dirt along the new Airport Boulevard north of Route EE. Crews will work to build the new bridge over the railroad tracks – AWAY from traffic.
Farm Road 107 (Kaylor Road) is closed to traffic.
The new Airport Boulevard will parallel Farm Road 107 (Kaylor Road) between Route 266 and Route EE (West Division Street).
The project involves building Airport Boulevard between Route 266 and the new Springfield-Branson National Airport terminal, building a new round-about at the intersection of Airport Boulevard, Route EE and Farm Road 124, relocating Route 266 to the north of the existing roadway and rehabilitating the Chestnut Expressway bridge over I-44.
Scheduled completion: December 2008.

Interchange Reconstruction: I-44/Mile Marker 127, Lebanon (Laclede County)
The new traffic signals at either end of the new Exit 127 bridge are now in full operation – cycling red, yellow, green.
Nighttime lane closings on I-44 are planned for Monday and Tuesday to allow crews to install new guardrail around the Exit 127 bridge columns. Lane closings are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Crews will spread grass seed and mulch throughout the project.
The project involves replacing the bridge over I-44 at Mile Marker 127, reconfiguring the ramps and building a new intersection on the north side of the interchange.
Scheduled completion: August 2008.
The City of Lebanon is a partner with MoDOT in this project.

Stone County
Construction Project -
Route 13 Relocation: Branson West (Stone County)
The connections between the new lanes of Route 13 and Business 13 (Old Route 13) on the North and South edges of Branson West are open to traffic. Drivers should be alert for a new driving pattern, including stop signs for Business Route 13 for traffic wanting to enter and cross the new lanes of Route 13. Route 13 traffic does NOT have to stop.
Signals are scheduled to be installed at the new North and South intersections beginning the week of July 7.
Drivers can access Business Route 13 at either end of Branson West or by using the extension of Route 76 between Business 13 and the new lanes of Route 13.
The project relocates a 2.23-mile section of Route 13 west of the existing highway. Route 76 has been extended to meet the new roadway.
The project is nearing completion.

Route 38 (Spur Drive) Widening: Marshfield (Webster County)
The new traffic signals at Route CC, Banning Street and Jefferson Street are scheduled to begin flashing on Tuesday, July 8, and are scheduled to go into full operation – cycling red, yellow and green – beginning Tuesday, July 15.
Drivers should be alert for traffic shifts and lane closings on Route 38 and one-lane traffic on side roads throughout the week. Crews will install traffic signal detector loops in the pavement at signalized intersections.
Crews will do general clean up work, including dirt work behind the new curbs throughout the project.
Drivers should be alert for narrowed business entrances. Drivers can still access all of the businesses along Route 38.
The project includes widening Route 38 to five lanes and adding new traffic signals at Route CC, Banning Street and Jefferson Street.
Scheduled completion: August 2008.
