Bollinger County

Construction Projects

Route 72 - Apex Paving will start work widening and relocating a curve just west of the Sale Barn in Patton on Monday, May 19. To start the work, the contractor will haul dirt from a borrow area across from Meadow Heights School.  Drivers can expect trucks entering and leaving the area daily as work continues on the relocation.  Traffic in this area will also be reduced to one lane, so motorists should expect some delays.

Location: Project is from just east of Route 51 to Route 34.

Butler County

Construction Projects

Route 53--Route 53 will be reduced to one lane from Route 51 in Butler County to Route 62 in Dunklin County.  Lake Asphalt Paving & Construction is resurfacing and adding shoulders from Qulin to Campbell. A vehicle marked "Pilot Car" will lead traffic thru the one lane work zone.  If you approach Route 53 from a side road, please wait until the "Pilot Car" passes in your direction before entering the roadway.

 

Roadway Maintenance

Route 142 in Butler County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform routine bridge maintenance.
Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Wednesday, July 2 thru Thursday, July 10, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

Route N in Butler County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews patch the roadway. 

This section of roadway is location from Route 51 to County Road 240.

Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Tuesday, July 8 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Cape Girardeau County

Construction Projects

Route 72 - Traffic reduced to one lane from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as Apex Paving begins resurfacing and shoulder paving.

Location: From just east of Route 51 to Route 34.

Route 34/72 - On Monday, June 23, Gaines Construction will be closing County Road 328 at the Route 34 intersection in Jackson as the contractor begins grading, drainage and widening work.   County Road 328 will remain closed at the intersection for the next few months while the contractor is placing the new pavement.  

Southbound I-55 traffic will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a contractor hired by MoDOT starts shoulder work to install guardcable Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting. The guardcable installation will be a moving operation from Exit 111 at Oak Ridge to Exit 89 at Scott City and should wrap up in this location in mid-July. The entire project includes installing high-tension guardcable in the median along the southbound lane side of I-55 from Oak Ridge to Sikeston.

Dunklin County

Construction Projects

Madison County

Construction Projects

Route 67--A contractor hired by MoDOT is working on Route 67 to construct additional lanes for the upgrade to four lanes in Madison, Wayne and Butler Counties.  Currently most of the activity is grading work from Route E to the Wayne County line. Drivers should be cautious of trucks entering and leaving the roadway; however, there are no other impacts to traffic right now.   The work is expected to be completed in late 2010.

Route 72 from the Highway 67 East Outer Road to Kingsbury Boulevard will be reduced to one lane as Bross Construction starts shoulder work Monday, June 16, weather permitting.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily with both east and westbound lanes affected at various times with lane closures.  The project is the first phase of relocating Route 72 north of its current intersection with Route OO and constructing a roundabout at Fredericktown.  Completion is expected in fall 2008.

Route 67 – Bross Construction resurfacing and installing guardrail.  Traffic reduced to one lane in various locations daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Location: Cherokee Pass in Madison County to the Butler County line.

Mississippi County

Construction Projects

Interstate 57--Southbound traffic on I-57 in Mississippi County is Expected to be switched back to the southbound lanes on Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting.  Once the traffic is moved, southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane as the contractor still has some minor work to finish like the replacement of a small portion of pavement at the end of the Mississippi River Bridge.   

Roadway Maintenance

Interstate 57 in Mississippi County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the northbound lanes. 

This section of roadway is located six miles north of Route 62 to the bridge over Big Lake Bayou near the Illinois state line.   

Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane with an 18 foot width restriction from Monday, July 7 at 7:30 a.m. thru Monday, July 28 at 4:00 p.m.

Interstate 57 in Scott and Mississippi Counties will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the northbound lane. 

This section of roadway is located from Interstate 55 to Route B at Bertrand.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 7 and will reopen Friday, July 18 at approximately 3:00 p.m.

New Madrid County

Construction Projects

Route D - Robertson Contractors will be closing the road starting Monday, Apr. 21 as work gets underway to replace the bridge over Ditch 251 and replacing the deck over Ditch 4.

Location:  A half-mile west of Route MM near Lilbourn.

Estimated completion:  Mid-August 2008

Roadway Maintenance    

Interstate 55 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a width restriction of 16 feet while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the southbound lanes. 

This section of roadway is located from Route 80 (exit 58) to Route P (exit 52).

Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 7 at 8:00 a.m. and will reopen Friday, July 11 at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Roadway Maintenance

Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform concrete repairs in the southbound lane. This section of roadway is located at the southbound Exit 19 ramp in Hayti.

Weather permitting, traffic will be reduced to one lane Monday, July 7 at 8:00 a.m. and will reopen Friday, July 11 at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Scott County

Construction Projects

Southbound I-55 traffic will be reduced to one lane from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. as a contractor hired by MoDOT starts shoulder work to install guardcable Tuesday, June 24, weather permitting. The guardcable installation will be a moving operation from Exit 111 at Oak Ridge to Exit 89 at Scott City and should wrap up in this location in mid-July. The entire project includes installing high-tension guardcable in the median along the southbound lane side of I-55 from Oak Ridge to Sikeston.

Roadway Maintenance

The Missouri Department of Transportation traffic signal crew will be performing maintenance and upgrades to signals on Route 61 (North Main) in the city limits of Sikeston.

This section of roadway is at the intersection of Route 61 (North Main) and Smith Avenue.

Weather permitting, the work is scheduled for Tuesday, July 8 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This section of roadway is located from Interstate 55 to Route B at Bertrand.

St. Francois County

Construction Projects

Route 67--Work is underway to construct the Old Orchard/Route 67 interchange at Bonne Terre.  Right now grading work is underway from Route 47 to Stormy Lane.  The work is scheduled for completion in fall 2009. Drivers should be cautious of trucks entering and leaving the roadway; however, there are no other impacts to traffic currently. 

Route 221 will be reduced to one lane on the bridge over the St. Francois River, approximately 1 mile south of Farmington on Route 221 Monday, July 7. A three-week lane closure is necessary to allow for repairs to the bridge.  Temporary traffic signals, barrels and work zone signing will be in place around the clock to direct traffic through the work area. Motorists should expect delays of 5 to 10 minutes throughout the duration of the lane closure.

Stoddard County

Construction Projects

Route 60 - Eastbound Route 60 will be reduced to one lane starting July 2, weather permitting.  The lane closure will be from Route DD at Fisk to Route 51 while a contractor hired by MoDOT performs shoulder work as part of the new interchange construction.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Monday, July 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  All lanes will be open during the holiday weekend.

Roadway Maintenance

Route F in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews seal the roadway.  

This section of roadway is located from Route 60 to Route J.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 7 from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Wayne County

Construction Projects

Route 67 – Robertson Contractors Inc. beginning construction on four-lane bridge over Lake Wappapello.

Location: US 67 and Lake Wappapello south of Greenville.

Estimated completion: Spring 2009

The repairs will be made at bridges located one half mile south of Route EE to one half mile south of Bennet Creek bridge.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Wednesday, July 9 thru Friday, July 11 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

Route 67 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform routine bridge maintenance in the northbound lane. 

The work will take place from one-half mile south of Route 34 to one-half mile north of Route 34.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 7 thru Wednesday, July 9 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

Route 67 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane while MoDOT crews perform routine bridge maintenance in the northbound lane. 

The work will take place from 1 ½ mile north of Route 34 to one-half mile north Bennet Creek Bridge.

Weather permitting, the work will take place Monday, July 7 thru Wednesday, July 9 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.
