KTU Constructors, a Joint Venture, has been selected by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to complete the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program, the largest bridge improvement project in Missouri history.

MoDOT Director Pete Rahn (left) presided over ribbon-cutting ceremonies for the Route AA bridge, near Halfway. Also participating in the ceremoney were (from left), Larry Burk of Burk Bridge Company, Mike Kehoe, chairman of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, MHTC Commissioner Grace Nichols, and Polk County Associate Commissioner Billy Dryer.

The Route AA bridge over Hominy Creek in Polk County -- the first completed Safe & Sound bridge improvement project -- reopened to traffic April 23, 2009 with a parade of emergency vehicles, a bus from the Halfway Public Schools and MoDOT trucks.
