Route 48:  Herzog Contracting Corp., has been awarded a contract for a thin-lift overlay on Route 48 in Andrew County.  The contractor will begin at Route 71 to the Gentry County line on Route 48 for a length of 15.502 miles.  This project is expected to begin in Summer 2008.

Atchison County

Maintenance Projects:

Route CC:  Scheduled for an oil and chip seal operation beginning Tuesday, July 8 (weather permitting) from the Iowa state line to Route 275.  Route CC will be narrowed to one lane along this route for approximately one week.

Route T:  Scheduled for an oil and chip seal operation beginning as soon as Route CC is completed.  Route T will be narrowed to one lane from the Iowa state line to Route 275.  The project should take a week to complete.

Construction Projects:

Interstate 29:  Hot-in-place recycling will be done on I-29 beginning in May from the Iowa State line south to Route 111 at Rock Port.  The resurfacing project will utilize the hot-in-place recycling method in which asphalt pavement surfaces are corrected by softening the existing surface with heat, then mechanically removing the pavement surface, mixing it with a recycling or rejuvenating agent, possibly adding virgin asphalt and/or aggregate, and replacing it on the pavement without removing the recycled material from the existing roadway.  The contractor on this project will be Ideker Corporation of St. Joseph.   This project is currently in progress.

Buchanan County

Maintenance Projects: 

Interstate Roadwork Scheduled:  The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that several projects have been scheduled for Interstate 29 and Interstate 229 in the upcoming days. Drivers should expect minimal delays.

Please note that the following projects are weather permitting: 
Wednesday, July 9, 2008 - Interstate 29 at Route 36:

Concrete replacement will be done on the northbound passing lanes of the Interstate 29 overpass over Route 36. A lane drop will be put in place around 6:00 am, and will remain in place for 24 hours while the concrete cures.
Thursday, July 10, 2008 - Interstate 29 at Route 169 (south):  Concrete replacement will be done on the northbound driving lanes of the Interstate 29 overpass over Route 169 (near Weidmaier's Truck Stop). A lane drop will be put in place around 6:00 am, and will remain in place for 24 hours while the concrete cures.
Monday, July 14 & Tuesday, July 15, 2008 - Interstate 29 at Bee Creek:  Concrete replacement will be done on the northbound driving and passing lanes of Interstate 29 at Bee Creek south of St. Joseph. Only one lane will be treated each day. A lane drop will be put in place around 6:00 am, and will remain in place for 24 hours after each treatment while the concrete cures.
Wednesday, July 16 & Thursday, July 17, 2008 - Interstate 229 at Route 371:  Concrete replacement will be done on the driving lanes of northbound Interstate 229 at Route 371. A lane drop will be put in place around 6:00 am, and will remain in place for 24 hours while the concrete cures.

Construction Projects: 

Route 169:  Vance Brothers, Inc., has been awarded a contract for roadwork on Route 169 in Buchanan and Clinton Counties.  Microsurfacing will be done on Route 169 from Route FF in St. Joseph to the Clay County line near Trimble for a length of approximately 23 miles.  Pavement repairs will be done initially before the resurfacing begins.  During the roadwork the road will be narrowed to one lane around the work zone.  A pilot car and flaggers will be directing traffic through the work zone.  This project is expected to begin later this summer.

Caldwell County

Maintenance Projects:

Route Z, Route B and Route D:  roadwork has been scheduled on various routes in Caldwell County during the month of June.  During the next several weeks area maintenance crews will be patching and sealing on the routes listed below.  These routes may be narrowed to one lane in the work zone at various times. 

Route Z:  patching various locations and sealing throughout the route.

Route B:  patching and sealing from Route 116 through Cowgill to the Ray County line.

Route D:  patching and sealing from Route HH to Route 116.

Route 13:  Scheduled for concrete replacement from Kinston to the Ray County line starting the week of July 8th through July 25th (weather permitting).  Work will start at 7:00 am and conclude at 4:00 pm each day.  Flaggers will be directing traffic on this two lane road, but drivers should expect moderate delays.

Route 13:  Beginning Wednesday, July 9th, MoDOT crews will be working one-tenth of a mile north of Route 116 at Braymer doing concrete replacement on the southbound lanes of Route 13. The work should begin about 8:00 am, and end each day at approximately 4:00 pm. It will take two to three days to complete the repairs and will require a lane drop with flaggers present. 

Construction Projects:

Route 13:  a resurfacing project is scheduled for this summer on Route 13 in Caldwell County.  Route 13 will be resurfaced from Business 36 in Hamilton to south of Route V near Polo, for a total length of approximately 15 miles.  Prior to contract work scheduled for the road, MoDOT maintenance forces in the area will be continuing to make surface repairs in preparation of the asphalt overlay.  During the contractors resurfacing project, Route 13 will be narrowed to one lane and motorists will be guided through the work zone by a pilot car.  The contractor on the project will be Ideker, Inc. of St. Joseph.   This project is tentative to begin in September 2008.

Route 36:  Norris Asphalt Paving Co. has been awarded a contract to resurface Route 36 in Caldwell County.  The length of the project is 15.872 miles from east of the intersection of Route P to west of the intersection of Route M and Route A near Hamilton.  This project is expected to begin Summer 2008.

Route M:  Norris Asphalt Paving Co., has been awarded a contract on Route M in Caldwell and Daviess County.  A thin-lift overlay is scheduled from Route 13 to Route 36 near Breckenridge on Route M for a total length of 13.789 miles.  This project is expected to begin in July 2008.

Route A:  Norris Asphalt Paving Co., has been awarded a contract on Route A in Caldwell County.  A thin-lift overlay is scheduled for Route A from north of Route N to the Ray County line near Braymer.  The total length of the project is 4.949 miles.  This project is expected to begin in July 2008.

Clinton County

Maintenance Projects:

Route 169:  Beginning the week of July 7, crews will be fixing edge ruts(both north and southbound) from Route 116 north to Route V V in preparation for a micro-sealing project scheduled for later in the summer.  This project should take two days to complete.

Route 169:  Crews will be sealing shoulders on both sides of Route 169 from Route U south for approximately 1/4 mile.  This work will begin once the work to repair edge ruts above is completed. 

Route 169:  Crews will be doing concrete replacement on Route 169 at the intersection of Route V V.  The road will be narrowed to one lane during this project and a flagger will be present.

Route 69:  Beginning the week of July 7, crews will be working on Route 69 between Route 116 and Route 131 milling and patching in various locations.  Motorists should be advised of various lane closures throughout this area.  The work is expected to take two weeks to complete.

Construction Projects:

Route 69:  The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that the resurfacing project scheduled for Route 69 in Clinton County will begin on Tuesday, May 27th (weather permitting.)  Herzog Contracting Corp. of St. Joseph was awarded the contract for the project.  A six-mile section of Route 69 will be resurfaced from Route 116 to the Clay County line.  Initial pavement repairs will begin on May 27th and paving will begin once those repairs are completed.  The work is anticipated to take approximately six weeks to complete (weather permitting.)  During this resurfacing project the road will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers will direct motorists through the work zone.

Gentry County

Maintenance Projects:

Route C: a culvert replacement is scheduled for Wednesday, July 9th in Gentry County, five miles north of Route 136 to one and one-half miles south of Route FF beginning at 7:30 a.m.  The road will reopen at 4:00 p.m. the same day.  Drivers are asked to seek an alternate route during this period.

Route H:  MoDOT crews will repair the deck on a bridge on Route H located one mile south of Carmack Junction (Route 136) on Thursday, July 10th.  Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  The bridge will be narrowed to one lane while repairs are being done.

Daviess County

Maintenance Projects:

Route 69:  concrete replacement is scheduled for Route 69 on Monday, July 7th and Wednesday, July 9th.  Crews will be doing concrete replacement on Route 69 from I-35 to 1/2 mile west of I-35, weather permitting.  The road will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers will be present.

Route 6:  crews will be doing concrete replacement on Route 6 at the intersection of Route 6 and Route 190 near the town of Jamesport on Tuesday, July 8th and Thursday, July 10th.  The road will be narrowed to one lane and flaggers will be present.  

Route Z:  on Wednesday, July 9th, crews will be doing deck repair on a bridge on Route Z located approximately four miles west of Old Pattonsburg in Daviess County.  Work will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.  The bridge will be narrowd to one lane during the repairs.

Construction Projects:

Route M:  Norris Asphalt Paving Co., has been awarded a contract on Route M in Daviess and Caldwell County.  A thin-lift overlay is scheduled from Route 13 to Route 36 near Breckenridge on Route M for a total length of 13.789 miles.  This project is expected to begin in July 2008.

Dekalb County

Maintenance Projects:

Route 36:  MoDOT crews will be making repairs to the westbound approach lanes of the Grindstone Bridge sometimethe week of July 7.  The bridge is located approximately three miles west of CAmeron, Mo. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and all work should be completed in one day. [Project delayed]

Harrison County

Maintenance Projects:

Route NN:  Closed on Tuesday, July 8 for an emergency culvert replacement from Route M north to Route 46 beginning at 7:00 am and reopening at 4:00 pm the same day.  Drivers should seek an alternate route during this period.  RESCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, JULY 9TH DUE TO WEATHER.

Route EE:  roadwork has been scheduled for Route EE in Harrison County on Monday, July 7th from Route 136 north through the town of New Hampton.  On Tuesday, July 8th crews will begin working on Route EE between Route F and Route M.  Patching will be done in various sections beginning each day at 7:00 a.m.  The work is scheduled to be completed by Thursday, July 10th (weather permitting).  The road will be narrowed to one lane around the work zone and motorists will be directed with flaggers and a pilot car.

Route 69:  roadwork is scheduled to begin on July 7th on Route 69 from the Route 69 spur at Bethany north to the Iowa line and will continue (Monday thru Thursday) through the month of July (weather permitting).  Crews will be milling and refilling potholes in preparation for a chip seal operation scheduled later this season.  This will be a moving operation involving a lane closure.  Flaggers will be present to control traffic.

Holt County

Maintenance Projects:

Route B:  Culvert replacement scheduled for Wednesday, July 9 (weather permitting).  Area maintenance crews will be replacing a culvert approximately four miles south of Route 113. The road will remain open to traffic but will be narrowed to one lane.

Route 159:  resurfacing has been scheduled to begin on April 21, 2008 on Route 159 in Holt County.  Herzog Contracting has been awarded the contract on this project which consists of resurfacing 14 miles from the Nebraska State line to Interstate 29.  During the project the road will be narrowed to one lane around the work zone.  Motorists will be directed by flaggers and a pilot car.  The work is expected to take three to four weeks to complete (weather permitting).  This project is essentially completed with only striping remaining.

Nodaway County

Maintenance Projects:

Route H:  Wednesday, July 9, 2008 (weather permitting), MoDOT crews will be working to remove a fallen tree from Route H about three miles south of Route V.  Route H will be periodically blocked, but signs and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. The road should be cleared and reopened by 4:00 pm.

First Street in Maryville:  MoDOT crews will also be working on First Street in Maryville from Main to Dunn Street repairing the edges on both sides of the street. Flaggers will be present, but drivers should experience only moderate delays.

Third Street from Market to Depot Street:  following completion of the edge repairs on First Street, the crew will move to Third Street from Market Street to Depot St. doing the same kind of repairs on the north side of the street. This project should also be completed by 4:00 pm.

Construction Projects: 

Route E:  Has been scheduled for an asphalt overlay from Route 246 to Route 136 near Ravenwood for a total of 14 miles.  The contract has been awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. of St. Joseph.  During this resurfacing project the contractor will have the road narrowed to one lane and motorists will be directed by a pilot car.  The work is expected to take approximately two and a half weeks to complete.  This project begins on Monday, June 9th (weather permitting).
