Since the Avenue of the Saints spans a large part of the Midwest, Iowa and Missouri Departments of Transportation are designating these communities as "Saints" communities and providing them special signage as part of the ceremony.
Iowa is designating their communities prior to the ceremony, and a video of one of these ceremonies will be shown on Friday, June 27 following Iowa DOT Director Nancy Richardson's address. The list of Iowa communities are listed below. Iowa celebrated their completion of the Avenue last year.

Congressman Jim Oberstar from Minnesota is accepting the "Saints" designation on behalf of his state, also via video.
Missouri is holding whistle stops at each of its communities. A brief program will be offered at each whistle stop, and MoDOT Chief Engineer Kevin Keith will present a replica sign to the community designating them a "Saints" community. The following week, the Saints symbol will be placed on those communities' city limit signs.
