Route 61 - Chester Bross Construction Job# J3P0423B - Work involves grading, paving and bridges for four-lane expressway Avenue of the Saints, minimal to no impact to traffic.
Location: South of Wayland to Lewis County line approximately 9 miles
Work Zone Info: Work off of traveled roadway, two-way traffic
60 mph, no restrictions or lane closures.
* Route 61 closed at the 136 spur intersection near the Running Fox School. Detour directing northbound 61 traffic to continue north to Wayland and use 136 east; southbound traffic coming out of Keokuk and Alexandria will be directed to use 136 west and proceed to Wayland and then go south on Route 27. Detour will remain in place until summer 2008.
Project Status: 88% complete -
Seeding, lighting, guardrail, signing, striping and grinding.
Active work zone at the interchange near the Running Fox School, access to the ramps will be closed to all traffic and the ramps will remain closed until the project is completed.

Shelby County

Route 36 - Progressive Contractors Job# J3P0409C & 410 - Grading and paving for new dual divided facility, minimal to no impact to traffic.
Location: From 0.6 mile west of Route 15 at Shelbina east to 0.4 mile west of Ralls County at Monroe City
Work Zone Info: Work off of traveled roadway, two-way traffic 60 mph, no restrictions or lane closures.
**Installing box culverts under the east and westbound lanes of Route 36 just east of Shelbina; traffic reduced to one lane in the work zone with temporary signals controlling traffic on Route 36 at east end of Shelbina with a 12-foot width restriction 24 hours a day until the project is complete in 6 to 8 weeks.
Project Status: 17% complete -
Crew will be working on the bypass this week, possibly moving traffic over to the other lane by the end of the week. Also stripping forms and cleanup.
Box Culvert at Shelbina 65% complete - Crew will finish Stage 1 construction and pour the top slab for the third section Stage 1 construction. One lane traffic controlled by signals.
North Fork Salt River Bridge-87% complete- Crew should finish hauling dirt to bridge ends and possibly forming and pouring bridge approach on east side.

Route 36 - Bross Construction Job #J2P0482 - Grading, paving and concrete girder bridges for new dual divided facility.
Location: From east of Route 63 near Macon to west of Route 15 near Shelbina
Work Zone Info: Work off of traveled roadway, two-way traffic 60 mph, no restriction or lane closures at this time.
Project Status: 2% complete - Contractor is continuing to install drainage structures at various locations throughout the project. They have started construction of the substructure of two bridges, Route 36 over the Middle Fork of Salt River as well as Route 36 over Route FF near South Shelby High School. They are also performing clearing and grubbing operations.
Estimated Completion: Fall 2009
