Why is MoDot doing this project?
Safe & Sound is a multi-faceted program that will improve more than 800 of Missouri’s worst bridges in five years. The program will prevent many of the state’s worst bridges from being closed temporarily or permanently for safety reasons.
How does this project benefit me?
The Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program is a safe, innovative and cost-effective way to quickly rebuild and rehabilitate Missouri’s highway bridges by 2013. Missouri has more than 10,000 bridges, and over 1,000 in poor condition. At the end of the Program, Missourians will have 800 bridges that have been improved in a quick, cost effective manner.
What is the project time line?
Review a county-by-county list of all projects for individual project time lines. The entire Safe & Sound program will be complete by 2013.
