MoDOT Programs

MoDOT offers several programs that benefit the citizens of Missouri, as well as helping maintain our roads and highways.

Adopt-A-Highway

Local organizations and others interested in improving Missouri's environment can help with litter pickup, beautification or mowing through MoDOT's Adopt-A-Highway program.

"A Call to Oneness"

In March 2009, "A Call to Oneness" hosted a three-day seminar where more than 1,500 citizens from Kansas City and surrounding areas gathered to learn more about CDLs — 1,100 of whom participated in training to take the written exam. As part of the growing effort, MoDOT has committed trucks to help citizens practice for the driving portion of the exam.

Commuter Lots

Metropolitan-area commuter lots are located throughout the city.

Motorist Assist

Motorist Assist drivers patrol selected Kansas City interstates to lend a hand to motorists with vehicle problems and to keep roadways clear of debris.

Speaker's Bureau

MoDOT offers the services of our Kansas City District Speaker's Bureau to keep local groups informed about MoDOT programs, the state's transportation system and projects in your area.

reStart Inc., partnership

In 2010 the MoDOT and reStart Inc., an interfaith ministry that works with homeless persons, began a work program to employee homeless citizens. The workers pick up trash and beautify state-run roadways in the city’s urban core.

TRAC

MoDOT promotes education by sponsoring the Transportation and Civil Engineering program. TRAC uses an interactive computer module and hands-on exercises to help middle and high school students develop problem-solving skills.
