I-70 Outer Road Bridge over Small Creek

The I-70 Outer Road (Old Route 40) Bridge over Small Creek is old and in poor condition. The bridge was built in 1923 and carries more than 1,342 vehicles per day.

The existing bridge will be replaced with a new one by KTU Constructors. During construction, the road will be closed to traffic over the bridge. A detour will be signed taking traffic to the south.

Work is expected to get underway September 13, 2010, depending on weather and utility relocation. Once construction begins, the crew will have 36 days to complete the work and reopen the bridge.
