Camden County Route 5 -- October 2006 Photos
Photos from Oct. 30-Nov. 3:

The columns on the right side of this photo will sit in the median of the new Route 5 and support the Lake Road 5-89 bridge. The structures on the left are called "end bents" and will also support the new bridge.

The Caterpillar 5110 track hoe, 777 truck, and D11 tractor are some of the largest machines available for construction work. All three are used daily at the construction site.
Photos from Oct. 9-13:

Crews install a gabion wall around the end of a culvert pipe. A gabion wall is a structure made of wire and rock, and this one will keep the steep slope around the culvert pipe in place.

The long gray structure being covered with fill dirt is the huge 11' by 12' box culvert created to help control drainage around the new highway.
