Duane S. Michie of Hayti was appointed to the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in December 2001. He was named chairman of the commission in 2008. His term expires in March 2009.  Michie serves as a member of the Missouri Department of Transportation and Highway Patrol Employees’ Retirement System board of trustees, chairman of the Missouri Transportation Finance Corporation, and chairman of the Pemiscot County Port Authority.

Michie is also Chairman of the Board of First State Bank & Trust Co., Inc., and president and chairman of the board of First State Bancorp Inc. of Caruthersville.

Michie is past treasurer of the Missouri Bankers Association and a member of Hayti United Methodist church and the Caruthersville Rotary Club.
